Following a thirty year absence, Liberace returns to New York on April 15, 1984.
$$$$ The first of three record breaking Radio City Music Hall appearances. He set both attendance and gross receipt records. The two week engagement grossed $2.5 million for fourteen performances. 82,000 people watched him perform.
This was Liberace's 40th year in show business. I have an autographed souvenir program from the show. And check out this fabulous commemorative plate. Signed "Liberace - Love! 1984" "At this point he is a celebrity whose only portfolio is sheer excess, and he deliriously overstuffed it with outlandish costumes, Rolls Royces, chandeliers, and jewelry for days. His music, as you must know, was similarly overblown... It all sounded like Jane Wyman was about to die... " VILLAGE VOICE
