Liberace appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic before a sell out crowd. A very significant appearance because Liberace, fearing he might get lost in the sea of black tuxedos of the Philharmonic, wore a custom made white suit of tails.
This was the birth of what would become the costume legend.
